In Italy for Carnival we eat special sweets: the "bugie". They are fried, and very light, like the children lies!!

IN VENICE THERE IS AN OLD CARNIVAL WHITH THEATRE MASKS FROM 1700 EPOCH; IN VIAREGGIO NEAR PISA A MODERN CARNIVAL WITH BIG POLITICS,FILMS, T V, CHARACTERS MADE OF "CARTAPESTA" ( A MIXTURE OF PAPER ,GLUE AND WATER) ON LOTS OF TRUCK ; IN IVREA NEAR TORINO, PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT DISTRICTS HAS A FIGHT WITH ORANGES FROM TALL TRUCK. NEAR MY CITY, IN SANREMO WE MAKE CARNIVAL TRACK WITH LOTS OF FLOWERS, BECAUSE HERE WE CULTIVATE THEM.AT THE END WE THROW FLOWERS TO PEOPLE. ELENA

  4. CARNIVAL STOPS 40 DAYS BEFORE EASTER ON TUESDAY CALLED "FAT TUESDAY", IN FEBRUARY.
